Stanford Musgrave is a retired accountant, 55 years old, quiet and a broken man. These are supposed to be his golden years but he finds them hard to bear without his wife and best friend of 40 years, Edna. She died suddenly of a brain aneurism nearly two years ago and Stan has not been the same since. He began taking whatever drugs he could find hoping they would kill him so he could be with his beloved wife again. Ironically, the drugs began slowly taking a toll on his health, exacerbating his misery and compelling his two adult children to give him an ultimatum – either go into rehab or he won’t be allowed to see his grandchildren, whom he adores.
